DreamSpace™ Enters Space
Tourism Market through Technology Partnership with The da Vinci
Project - Las Cruces, New Mexico – October 21, 2006:
DreamSpace™, a new space tourism company was announced
at the XPRIZE Cup in Las Cruces, New Mexico by Brian Feeney,
founder of The da Vinci Project. DreamSpace™ has partnered
with The da Vinci Project to pursue the emerging space tourism
This collaborative effort has introduced the XF1, the first of
a planned line of multiple passenger spacecraft. The one person
technology demonstrator will be used to constantly broaden the
spaceflight envelope, in preparation for the DreamSpace™ goal
of Space Tourism. Technical details for this new ship were released
today, at the XPRIZE Cup and online at DreamSpaceGroup.net.
“DreamSpace™ is pushing the envelope in the field
of commercial space tourism”, said Brian Feeney, President. “We
have chosen the 2006 XPRIZE Cup to unveil the new XF1 prototype
spacecraft design, a one person spaceflight test bed for our 9‑person
commercial space tourism spacecraft."
The full scale XF1 will be ready for testing by the summer of
2007. It will employ a new liquid rocket propulsion system and
aircraft turbine engine. This is a winged space aircraft design
able to operate out of an airport style spaceport with airline
efficiency. It reflects both the technology and design approach
for DreamSpace’s space tourism business model.
DreamSpace™ is a new brand which is aimed at the Space Tourism
Industry. Founded by Brian Feeney of the da Vinci Project, DreamSpace™ is
creating a line of successively larger spacecraft, capable of providing
personal spaceflights to an ever-increasing tourism base. The technical
team behind DreamSpace™ comes from the existing da Vinci
Project’s team of aerospace engineers and project personnel.
